It works, it really works! Thank goodness. We tried two other sprays that claimed they would stop chewing but our puppy actually loved them! They were absolutely worthless. The "Bitter Apple" spray does what it says. Our Beagle puppy instantly stops chewing anything we spray it on, and it lasts so far for two weeks on what was sprayed. I cannot recommend it highly enough!
I had tried a few different things for our new puppy and nothing worked. I watched a video on non chew spray and they say to spray some on food then give it to the dog if your dog eats it then its no good if they spit it out you have a winner. I tried this with this spray and it worked like a charm. My dog didn't like it at all.
We recently purchased patio furniture for our home and I did not want my 2 puppies tearing everything up or even lounging on the furniture. I bought the Bitter Apple Spray but was of course, skeptical. My dogs will chew on almost anything in sight. I first sprayed my son's stuffed animal that the puppies cannot resist chewing on every time they come across it. After spraying, I laid the stuffed animal on the floor and they ran up to it, sniffed it and walked away & they never touch it now! This has happened with all the items I have tested this spray on. Now that our patio furniture is up, they have stayed away from everything thus far. Although it may not affect some dogs, it works great for us and I would highly recommend this product!
I use this when our puppy jumps up on me while I'm sitting down. I spray it on her paws while telling her NO! and she does not like the taste. I put some in small spray bottles and keep it by the computer, and where I sit in the dining room. I will buy again.
I purchased this product in hopes that it would meet the expectations that all of the previous reviews had set and it exceeded them. We have two dogs, one large and one small, that every time they're left at home alone they eat parts of the furniture to show their displeasure in our leaving them. No matter what we gave them to play with or chew on to curb this problem nothing was working. I ordered this product and the next time they were going to be left at home I sprayed down every part of the furniture they could reach before we left and when we came home the furniture was still intact and they actually chewed their rawhide's. This product is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! The value for us was also great because all it took was the one time of spraying everything down to curb their furniture eating habit. I would definitely recommend this product to any dog owner with chewing issues. It was a life saver =) The only possible downside is that you want to test this on the furniture fabric first to make sure it wont stain. It didn't on ours, but it is a warning on the product.
I have a chihuahua that loves to eat shoes and well everything else....so I started asking around on how i could train my dog to stop chewing adn I was told to find this spray>>>unfortunately our store was out but i right away checked for it online and found exactly what I was looking for....since I have been using the spray, my little Rocco hasn't chewed on a shoe yet....you do have to reapply after a couple days but what I realized is if you spray it in his direction(not face) like in front of the closet door as he is about to enter, it sort of jogs his memory and he will steer clear for two or three....hopefully the training will stick!!
Have been looking for aids to help train a new dog that we just adopted recently from the pound. A fried told me about Bitter Apple and I am amazed at how well this product really works!
Two words - it works! I rescued two dogs at the same time. One of them had a fetish for chewing on a few items. I sprayed this on the the items she was chewing on and she no longer went near them. Problem solved. Like I said - it works!!
I have a Chihuahua puppy that has developed a taste for my dining table legs. I sprayed all the legs with the bitter apple, and he hasn't gone near them since.
I bought this for a puppy who's chewing on everything including wires and fingers but she finds it as a treat!!! So if anything she thinks it's ok to chew on that kind of stuff.
